The first positive case of an incarcerated person was reported on June 24 and IDOC has reported cases; of which have been received and logged by CDH at the time of the release. That data is updated on Mondays and Thursdays at 12 p. For those incarcerated, the county where they are serving their sentence is considered their county of residence for illness reporting purposes. CDH says they will work with IDOC to identify affected staff and residents and ensure they receive information for any necessary quarantine or isolation.

In a written statement Wednesday, Gov. Brad Little pointed out Idaho is one of the last states to have a confirmed case of COVID in its prison population, and thus department officials have had time to prepare for a positive test.

The agency has its headquarters in Boise. Most of them are correctional officers and probation and parole officers. As ofIDOC contracts with one private prison firm, Management and Training Corporationto run one facility: the Correctional Alternative Placement Program, a bed center focused on treatment programs and inmates with cognitive issues.
